This is my new prized borrowed instrument - a laboratory thermometer for my new project - thermoma-knit!

thebeautifulanddarned: ‘the beautiful and darned’ came from an interesting conversation I had with a friend of mine who is a graphic designer. I called him and said I want to call my new label – 'Damn the Rich', title of a song from my favourite band, The Fall. It was an ironic play on the fact that I’ve chosen only to work in cashmere at a time when the world is in chaos and it would seem the very rich haven’t noticed….. My friend however felt I would potentially be biting the hand that feeds me and so after a bit of a word game came up with a reference to F. Scott Fitzgeralds, The Beautiful and Damned, a book that resonates today in its story of decadence and tragedy. He wasn’t sure about directly using the name and thought a more personal reference to me and the work would be better.
